CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Longwood's Bali Song has been named Big South Freshman of the Week in women's tennis, the league announced Wednesday.

Song, a native of San Nicolás de los Garza, México, went 2-0 against VCU in her collegiate dual match. She won at No. 1 singles against Viktoria Lackova in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, after teaming with Oriana Izarra to win at No. 1 doubles, 6-3, beating Tan Andrade Sabando and Mariam Ibrahim, to knot doubles, 1-1, at the time.

The Lancers dropped the match, 6-1.

Longwood (0-1) returns to action Saturday, taking on Christopher Newport on the road at noon.
