DAVIDSON, N.C. — Timéo Puech and Daniel Borisov of the Longwood men's tennis team were declared co-champions of the A singles draw at the Davidson Invitational Sunday.
Both players won their two previous matches in the flight and were slated to meet in the final Sunday, instead the tournament directors named them co-titlists.
Petter Lindquist also won the F draw with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Mark Agafanov from Queens.
Ninad Raut fell to Boyd Schreiber in the B draw, 6-4, 6-2.
Wofford's Daniel Clivio came back to beat Daniel Lopez in the final of the C draw, 2-6, 6-4, 16-14. Kaua Cressoni of Gardner-Webb did the same against Alejandro Uribe in the E draw final, winning, 3-6, 6-4, 10-6.
Rufus Plane lost to Valdemar Dubin from Wofford in the D draw final in three sets, 5-7, 7-5, 10-3.
In doubles action, Schreiber and Cressoni topped Puech and Borisov, 6-2, in the A draw. In the B draw, Lopez and Uribe beat Graham Bourne and Alexandre Bergeron from Gardner-Webb, 6-0, while Plane and Marko Mrdak were bested by Jack Deveney and Parker Mariencheck of Wofford, 6-3.
In the C draw, Lindquist and Raut topped the UNCG pair of Samuel Presser and Eric Lindemann, 6-1.
Finally, in the D draw, Ryan Foster and Gary Huang fell to Connor Cole and Aidan Hernandez of Davidson, 7-6 (3).
Through three fall tournaments, the Lancers are 47-10 overall in singles play for an .825 winning percentage.
Longwood returns to action Oct. 9-13 at the ITA regional championships in Blacksburg, Va.
