FARMVILLE, Va. – A home slate that features a major Commonwealth matchup and two games against ACC foes are among the most anticipated games in the Longwood men's basketball
non-conference schedule.
The Lancers will host James Madison at the Joan Perry Brock Center in a matchup that features two of the most successful teams in the Commonwealth over the past few seasons.
In addition, Longwood travels to the ACC's Pitt and Wake Forest, along with a trip to Columbia for a game against an Ivy League foe, as part of a challenging non-conference slate, released by head coach Ronnie Thomas today.
The 15-game gauntlet, which features seven home games at the Joan Perry Brock Center, begins on Monday, November 3 and wraps up at the end of December to lead into Big South Conference play.
After opening the season against Mary Baldwin, the Lancers head north to take on Pitt in their first Power Four matchup of the season.
The team then returns home to host James Madison on November 12 in a game that features two mid-major teams who have averaged better than 20 wins in a season over the past four years.
The game against the Dukes opens up a three-game homestand. The Lancers also host Binghamton (Nov. 15) as a part of
Homecoming Weekend, an event that has quickly become a staple on the Longwood calendar.
