CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Seven Longwood softball players have been named to the 2025 All-Big South Teams, the league announced on Tuesday.
Catcher

Er'ron Burton, redshirt sophomore designated player
Maryanna Guy and redshirt freshman second baseman
Avery Jefferson all earned second-team honors.
Graduate student center fielder
Avery Drake and freshman left fielder
Sophia Pisacano were honorable-mention selections. Pisacano also joined Bennett on the All-Freshman Team.
Junior right-hander
Maggie Chapin was the Lancers' representative on the Big South All-Academic Team.
Bennett, who becomes the first Longwood freshman to be a first-team selection since Jaden Pone in 2022, led team with .331 batting average and 42 hits. Bennett is 10th in the Big South in batting average, second in the league in slugging percentage and OPS in league games (.702 and 1.109, respectively) and sixth in Big South in home runs in league games (four).
She is tied for second on the team with eight multiple-hit games while also enjoying an eight-game hitting streak during the season. Bennett was named Big South Player of the Week on April 7 and Big South Freshman of the Week on April 28.
Burton earns her first all-conference nod after pitching to a 5-5 record with a 2.49 ERA in 78 2/3 innings in 22 appearances in the circle. She has thrown six complete games and three shutouts with one save. Burton has struck out 64 and walked just 37 on the year.
She shut out NC State, 1-0, on two hits on April 15 and followed it with shutouts at Queens and USC Upstate. In blanking the Spartans, 4-0, on April 27, the Lancers secured a road series sweep and the No. 2 seed in the Big South tournament.
On the heels of that performance, Burton was named Big South Pitcher of the Week on April 28 for the first time.
Guy, who picks up the second second-team all-league honor of her career, was a two-time Big South Player of the Week this season, winning on March 31 and April 28.
She is hitting .276 with 11 home runs and 28 RBIs and is second in the Big South in slugging percentage (.633). Guy is also fourth in Big South in OPS (1.018) while also leading the league in slugging percentage, OPS and home runs in conference games (.804, 1.240 and seven, respectively).
Guy hit five homers the week of April 27 tying for the most home runs in NCAA Division I for the week with Wichita State's Lauren Lucas.
Jefferson has batted .329 in 31 games and 23 starts with 11 runs scored and three stolen bases in five attempts on the season. She hit .429 with a .929 OPS in nine Big South games and currently third on the team with seven multi-hit games.
Drake, the only player to start all 50 games this season, has hit .270 with a team-leading 28 runs scored, two triples, 18 walks and 16 stolen bases. She batted .358 in 18 Big South games with 10 walks and a .460 on-base percentage, both marks that were fifth best in the conference.
Playing her 100th game in a Longwood uniform and final game in Farmville, Drake became the second player in as many days in Division I softball to play all nine positions in a single game on Sunday against Howard. She joined Mia Scott of Texas, who accomplished the feat Saturday versus Kentucky in just five innings.
Pisacano has hit .187 in 47 games and 46 starts while anchoring the left field for the Lancers. A native of Albertson, N.Y., Pisacano has displayed tremendous range in the outfield, making no fewer than three diving catches and one running grab at the wall on the year at Georgia (Feb. 16), versus Gardner-Webb (March 30), at Radford (April 12) and at USC Upstate (April 26), respectively.
Pisacano was named Big South Freshman of the Week on March 31 and batted .343 in league play with eight walks and seven runs scored.
Chapin carries a 3.963 GPA in biology and has pitched to an 8-13 mark with a 4.28 ERA in 24 games and a team-best 101 1/3 innings.
