FARVMILLE, Va. – Anastasia Lajoie was awarded the annual Bob McCloskey Insurance Big South Conference Graduate Fellowship, the league office announced today.
 
The award, which is given by Bob McCloskey Insurance—a Big South Corporate Partner, will award $2,000 to Lajoie for her graduate studies as part of the conference's annual Spring Awards Dinner Banquet on Thursday, May 29.
 
Lajoie played in 14 matches last season for Longwood women's lacrosse, and she tallied 12 assists. She posted a season-best three assists against Presbyterian on April 19 and had multi-assist games against George Mason and High Point.
 
Lajoie has played 29 games in her Longwood career, and she helped the Lancers reach the Big South Conference Championship Tournament in 2024 in her first season in Farmville.
 
In the classroom, Lajoie graduated with a 3.587 GPA in Physics with a minor in Mathematics, and she will go into graduate school to pursue her graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering.
 
At Longwood, she has served as a Study Hall Monitor in the Student-Athlete Academic Center. During the past academic year, she has been conducting research for the 3He Target Wall Thickness Study, and she has been involved on campus as well. In addition, she was a Big South Presidential Honor Roll honoree.
