The First Pitch:
•    Longwood wraps up a four-game road stretch with a three-game series at Presbyterian this weekend in Clinton, South Carolina.
•    Longwood will then return home to for a four-game homestand at Buddy Bolding Stadium.
•    The Lancers have played six games against teams in the current top 100 of RPI with matchups against Charlotte, Boston College, Richmond and ETSU. Longwood also has games remaining against both USC Upstate and High Point, as well as a second midweek game against Richmond.
•    The Lancers have a top 100 win this season thanks to their 13-12 walkoff win over Boston College on March 4.
•    This weekend, Longwood takes on a Presbyterian side that is second in the league at 6-3 in conference play.

Previous Series
•    Longwood fell 17-6 in eight innings to the highest-scoring team in the nation at VMI on Tuesday.
•    The Keydets jumped out to an early lead behind a grand slam in the first inning, and a second grand slam made it 14-0 after three complete frames.
•    Longwood's offense started to get on track in the middle innings, and the Lancers plated runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh.
•    James Nelson had a pair of base hits on the day for Longwood, and Tre Keels hit a three-run home run, his sixth homer of the year, in the seventh inning to trim the lead to 15-6.
•    However, VMI's bullpen fended off a Lancer rally in the eighth, and the Keydets hit a two-run shot in the bottom half of the inning to end the game.

Around The Bases:
•    Longwood dives back into conference play against Presbyterian, who won the Big South Championship in 2023.
•    The Lancers are tied for third with four teams (Winthrop, Radford, USC Upstate) in the Big South at 3-3 in league play.
•    Over the next two weekends, Longwood takes on the top two teams in the league in Presbyterian and High Point.
•    In six Big South games, the Lancers rank fourth in batting average (.317) and second in on-base percentage (.464).
•    The Lancers averages 9.8 runs per game in league play, which is tied for third.
•    Longwood also leads the league in stolen bases per game in Big South play (2.67), which is fitting for the team that leads the Big South in stolen bases (79) on the season.
•    Tre Keels is fifth nationally, and first in the Big South, with 24 stolen bases, and Myles Webb is fourth in the Big South with 12 stolen bases.
•    Five different Lancers have at least five stolen bases this season, with three more having four.
•    James Nelson, meanwhile, has 12 doubles to lead Longwood. He has 12 of Longwood's 53 doubles as a team, and he is second in the Big South in doubles.
•    Nelson is also eighth in the Big South with 32 RBI.
•    Jae'dan Carter is third in the league with 26 drawn walks, and Urbaniak is right behind him in fourth with 23.
•    Carter also ranks 47th nationally in walks drawn.
•    Urbaniak, meanwhile, ranks eighth in the Big South in on-base percentage at .491.
•    Urbaniak has reached base safely in 15 straight contests, and Carter has done so in 12 straight.
