The First Pitch:
• Longwood wraps up a four-game road stretch with a three-game series at Presbyterian this weekend in Clinton, South Carolina.
• Longwood will then return home to for a four-game homestand at Buddy Bolding Stadium.
• The Lancers have played six games against teams in the current top 100 of RPI with matchups against Charlotte, Boston College, Richmond and ETSU. Longwood also has games remaining against both USC Upstate and High Point, as well as a second midweek game against Richmond.
• The Lancers have a top 100 win this season thanks to their 13-12 walkoff win over Boston College on March 4.
• This weekend, Longwood takes on a Presbyterian side that is second in the league at 6-3 in conference play.

• Longwood fell 17-6 in eight innings to the highest-scoring team in the nation at VMI on Tuesday.
• The Keydets jumped out to an early lead behind a grand slam in the first inning, and a second grand slam made it 14-0 after three complete frames.
• Longwood's offense started to get on track in the middle innings, and the Lancers plated runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh.

James Nelson had a pair of base hits on the day for Longwood, and Tre Keels hit a three-run home run, his sixth homer of the year, in the seventh inning to trim the lead to 15-6.
• However, VMI's bullpen fended off a Lancer rally in the eighth, and the Keydets hit a two-run shot in the bottom half of the inning to end the game.
