FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood men's basketball guard
Angelo Brizzi earned Academic All-District honors, the College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday.

The academic all-district honors are awarded to student-athletes who excel both on the court and in the classroom, with student-athletes required to hold at least a 3.5 GPA along with meeting stringent playing time requirements.

Brizzi, a Dean's List honoree, met the academic requirement while serving as an integral part of the Longwood guard rotation throughout the season.

The Sociology major started in 22 games while playing in all 32 for the Lancers, and he averaged 6.8 points per game.
Â
He scored in double figures nine times, and he did the bulk of his damage in conference play, with eight of those nine games in double figures coming in Big South action. Five times in the last seven games of the regular season, he scored at least 10 points.

The Lancers closed the season 18-14 to record a fourth straight winning season for the first time in four decades.
