The First Pitch:
•   Longwood heads to Richmond to take on the Spiders in the first of two meetings between the two teams this season before hosting UMass Lowell on Wednesday.
•   The Lancers will play a return game against Richmond in Farmville in April, making it the third straight season and fourth time in five years the two have matched up in a midweek home-and-home. The only time in that stretch they didn't was in 2022.
•   The Lancers will start
Sam DiLella on the mound, and DiLella will be making his third appearance of the season after coming on in relief against both Penn State and Wright State.
•   Richmond sends graduate right-hander Gerry Peacock to the bump for his third appearance of the season.
Â
Previous Series
•   The Lancers went 1-2 at the DMV Classic over the weekend, with a 6-4 win over Towson before losses against George Mason and Georgetown.
•   In the win, Guillermo Garcia, Jr. got the win while the defense stayed clean behind him, and
Wyatt Bunch recorded the save.
•  Â
Bentley Yeatts hit his first collegiate home runs, and
James Nelson drove in three runs in the win as well.
•   In the matchup against a streaking George Mason side, the Patriots used early runs to power past Longwood 18-0 in seven innings.
•   Georgetown did the same thing on Sunday afternoon with four runs in the first inning that led to a 10-0 win in seven innings.
Â
