CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. —Eight different players scored for the Longwood women's basketball team, but Virginia put three in double figures and received a triple-double from Romi Levy in a 94-47 win at John Paul Jones Arena on Thursday.
The Cavaliers shot 52 percent from the from the floor, including 62 percent in the first quarter to stake itself to a lead and didn't look back after the Lancers scored the game's first four points through Frances Ulysse.
Kymora Johnson scored a game-high points on 9-for-15 shooting with five 3-pointers, while Caitlin Weimer added 15 points.
But Levy stole the show, tallying 14 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for UVA to move to 4-1 overall.
"I was just really disappointed in our intensity and effort tonight, especially on the boards. particularly the second half," Longwood head coach Erika Lang-Montgomery, said of her team which was outrebounded, 53-18. "Virginia took the lead and we we didn't rise to the occasion and I wouldn't like for us to have more fight than what we did."
Longwood (4-2) held its own in the first half, connecting on 11-of-23 shots while shooting 54 percent in the first half.
Jaci Bolden led Longwood with nine points, Amor Harris added nine and Olivia Bowes and Ulysse each scored six points.
Virginia led 31-14 after the first quarter, 47-29 at the half and 77-35 after three, opening a 51-point edge, its largest of the night late in the fourth.
Longwood is back on the road Monday at nationally ranked Ole Miss on SEC Network+. Tip is 7 p.m., easter time at the Black Pavilion.
