SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Longwood women's tennis team picked up four victories on the second day of the Big Southern Shootout Saturday.
The Lancers took on tournament-host Wofford in singles and Middle Tennessee State in doubles.
In singles action, Feline van Eijkelenburg outlasted Katie Godfree, 7-6 (0), 3-6, 10-8. Longwood's other singles win came from freshman Bali Song, who nipped Ella Suk, 7-6 (3), 7-5.
The doubles pair of van Eijkelenburg and Song defeated Middle Tennessee's Rutuja Chaphalkar and Sthefany Lima, 7-5, while Oriana Izarra and Hima Fernando earned their second win of the weekend together. That duo defeated Lena Peyer and Sara Conde, 7-6 (4).
Fernando dropped her singles match against Quinn Bernthal, 7-5, 7-6 (5). Grace Agster beat Izarra, 6-3, 6-1, and Chloe Elliott beat Alexandra Magia, 6-2, 7-5.
Alexis Broderick took Grace Stout to a second-set tiebreak before falling, 6-3, 7-6 (6).
Magia and Nicole Di Bisceglia were defeated by Zenn Lim and Zora Koenig, 7-6 (5).
The tournament wraps up Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. Longwood will face Chattanooga in doubles and Middle Tennessee in singles on the day.
