FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood women's golfer
Avery Nordman finished highest among Big South Freshman at the UNCG Collegiate earlier this week, and the Big South Conference named her the Freshman of the Week today.

Nordman, who was incredibly consistent over three rounds, was the team's top finisher at the event behind the strength of a 75-75-73—223 (+7). The freshman moved up to 12
th on the final day of the event.

Over 54 holes, she had five birdies and 39 pars. Her 39 pars were tied for the second-most in the field. She was at her best on Par 3s, where she led the field and finished three-under for the event.

It was the third time this season that Nordman has earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors. She has earned a top 15 spot in all four tournaments in the fall and a top 12 spot three times.

The Lancers have one tournament remaining in the fall when they head to the Edisto Island Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, October 27-28. The event will be held in Charleston, South Carolina.
