Lancers set to play three game series with the preseason Big South favorite

The First Pitch:
•    Longwood is set to travel to host USC Upstate in a Big South Conference weekend series.
•    Longwood comes into the weekend following a double header at Duke, where the Lancers ultimately dropped two games.
•    Longwood currently sits tied for sixth in the Big South standings.
•    The Lancers are currently two games back of fourth place. The top four seeds go to the conference tournament in High Point.

Around The Bases:
•    Longwood is set to travel to host preseason Big South favorite USC Upstate in a weekend series.
•    The Lancers look to continue to grow off their last conference performance, where they took two of three from UNC Asheville.
•    The Lancers experience has been a steady piece on both sides of the ball this season. Noah Campanelli, Hayden Harris,Tanner Thomas and Drew Camp help lead the way for Longwood at the plate, while Sean Gibbons, Dominick D'Ercole, and Brenton Fisher have been mainstays on the mound for the Lancers.
•    On Sunday, Longwood dropped two games at Duke.
 •    The Blue Devils struck first, but the Lancers would not go away quietly in game one, when Tanner Thomas singled to get Longwood on the board in the fourth.
•    In the fifth the Lancers loaded the bases again, and it was Thomas picking up the timely hit to cut the Blue Devil lead down to 4-3..
•    From there Duke exploded, and took both game one and two from the Lancers.
•    Longwood currently sits fourth in the conference in batting average at .271.
•    Noah Campanelli is the league leader in the stolen bases at 30.
•    The Lancers are still proving that they are not afraid when it comes to being hit by a pitch. They currently sit ninth in the country in HBP at 99.
.•    Longwood has also proven to be an unselfish bunch at the plate this season as they have the seventh most sacrifice bunts on the season in the country at 43.
