HIGH POINT, NC - Longwood uses big innings to power past High Point Sunday afternoon. The Lances (16-20, 4-8) pounded out 15 hits on the day as they used a big sixth inning to avoid a series sweep by the Panthers (19-17, 8-4) on day three. Drew Camp led the way for the Lancers going 3-5 with a home run, double, and four RBI to help Longwood win 12-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
High Point got on the board first in the bottom half of the second inning courtesy of a Eric Grintz single.

Longwood responded quickly when Drew Camp roped a two out RBI double down the left field line to tie the game at one.

After the Panthers took the lead in the bottom of the third, Longwood responded yet again. Nathan Lancianese hit a ground rule double into the gap to tie the game, and two batters later Hayden Harris gave the Lancers the lead with a double of his own.

In the sixth, Longwood erupted to take control of the game. The scoring started with a Blagen Pado single, followed by Hayden Harris' second double of the afternoon plating Pado. Two Batters later Drew Camp deposited his second home run on the season to extend the Longwood lead to five. Later in the inning, Corbin McCloud blasted his first career home run to extend Longwood's lead.

When the damage was done Longwood added seven runs on four hits and led 11-4.

From there the combination of Dylan Saale, Kevin Warunek, and Ried Dittner held the Panthers to only one additional run over the last four innings, and Longwood took game three 12-5.

Dylan Saale (1-0) picked up his first win of the season as Jake Potts (0-2) took the loss.
