FARMVILLE, VA - Longwood played on the road Wednesday afternoon in a midweek matchup at UNC, but the 17th ranked Tar Heels muscled past Longwood 12-3.
The Lancers (6-2) struck first in the top of the second, but UNC (7-2) answered in the bottom half of the second and third and never gave up the lead.
Hayden Harris tallied two base hits on the day bringing his average to .400

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Longwood played a little small ball to take the lead in the top of the second.
Noah Campanelli drew a walk and stole a base before coming home on two wild pitches for a 1-0 lead.
UNC was quick to respond with a home run from first baseman Alberto Osuna, and then North Carolina tacked on three in the bottom half of the third to make it 4-1.
The Lancers wouldn't go away easy though. In the top half of the 5th
Tanner Thomas led off with a double to right field.
Ryan Perez followed that at bat up with a walk, and one pitch later the two moved up into scoring position on a wild pitch. However, UNC's bullpen kept the Lancers off the board in that frame, and the Tar Heels added four runs in the bottom half of the inning.
