FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood Head Baseball Coach
Ray Noe announced the team's 53 game schedule today.
The schedule features a strong mix of challenges from across the spectrum while also bringing in a variety of good Commonwealth matchups in Noe's first year leading the team.
In addition, Longwood will play 28 home games. The 29-game non-conference slate also prepares the squad for a challenging 24-game Big South schedule. The top six teams advance to the postseason after only four teams were selected a season ago.

The Lancers open with a home-heavy schedule, with 12 of their first 13 games coming at Buddy Bolding Stadium, but the team's longest road swing is five straight games. The Lancers will play 11 of 13 away from home in early March.
Lognwood opens the year with a three-game set against the defending Horizon League regular season champs in Wright State Friday to Sunday, February 14-16.
The team continues a long-running series against VCU for a midweek matchup with the reigning A10 champions on Tuesday, February 18, and the team returns the game in March on the 25
th.
The Lancers then host Penn State for a four-game series the following weekend, February 21-23, with the two sides playing a doubleheader on Saturday, February 22. It will mark the first meeting between the two sides.
A road trip to Charlotte gives the squad its first road test of the year in a midweek game on February 25, and then the Lancers return home to close February and open March against Albany for a four-game series.
During Spring Break, the Lancers head to Washington D.C. to take on Towson, George Mason, and a Georgetown team that advanced to the Big East Championship game last season. The four teams will each play over a three-day span from March 7-9 for a DMV matchup.
From that point on, the Lancers take on Richmond (March 11, April 22) and VMI (March 18, April 1) in home-and-homes during midweek play. They also host UMass Lowell (March 12) and James Madison (April 8), with JMU coming off an at-large berth in the N.C. State Regional a season ago.
Midweek trips to William & Mary (April 15), Elon (April 30) and UNCG (May 13) round out the rest of the midweek road trips. Longwood also hosts ETSU from March 14-16 in their final non-conference series prior to running into Big South play.
Conference play begins with a road trip to UNC Asheville on Friday, March 21, and the team will travel to Asheville (March 21-23), Presbyterian (April 4-6), Charleston Southern (April 17-19) and USC Upstate May 2-4) during the spring.
Meanwhile, Longwood will host Gardner-Webb (March 28-30), High Point (April 11-13), Winthrop (April 25-27) and Radford (May 15-17) as a part of Big South play. The Radford series closes the regular season as the team gears up for the Big South Tournament.
The conference tournament begins on May 21, and the event will be held at Truist Point in High Point, North Carolina. The top six teams in the league will advance into the Big South Tournament.
