SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Freshman Alexandra Magia won her singles match to lead the Longwood women's tennis team on the first day of the Big Southern Shootout at Wofford on Friday.

Magia defeated Margaret Manolache of Chattanooga, 6-2, 6-7 (3), 10-4 to earn the Lancers only singles victory of the day.

In doubles action, senior Kashmira Manohar and junior Elizaveta Gnilozubova partnered to beat  Wofford's Chloe Elliott and Brianna Wilbur, 7-5.

The event also features teams from Campbell, Western Carolina, Gardner-Webb and Radford.
