CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Longwood women's tennis team won all three of its matches in the singles and doubles main draws on the second day of the 2024 ITA Atlantic Regional at Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center on Friday.

Senior Karina Rizvanova opened the day for the Lancers with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win over Julia Jeffrey from Morgan State to advance to the round of 32. She will next play Navy's Emily Tannenbaum on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

In doubles action, Rizvanova, teamed with freshman Alexandra Magia, took down Alejandra Ramirez and Solange Skeene from George Mason, 8-4. The pair will now play fourth-seeded Danielle Hack and Kallista Liu of Maryland at 3:30 p.m., on Saturday.

Sophomore Feline van Eijkelenburg and junior Oriana Izarra then knocked off Grace Li and Parvathi Shanker of Navy, 8-6. They move on to play ninth-seeded Francesca Davis and Hedda Gurholt of William & Mary at 4:30 p.m., on Saturday.

As part of a two-year pilot program, the NCAA will host its singles and doubles championships at the conclusion of the fall season. The ITA regional championships are one of four ways for players to qualify for the NCAA individual championships. The two singles finalists from each region will qualify for the NCAA singles championship, while the doubles champion from each region will qualify for the NCAA doubles championship.
