The First Pitch:
  • Longwood heads to Rock Hill, S.C. for a Big South conference series against Winthrop.
  • First pitch on Saturday is set for 1 p.m. with game two set to follow immediately after. Game three will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Longwood and Winthrop both have over 20+ wins on the season and sit in second and third place in the Big South respectively.
  • The Lancers and the Eagles met for a three-game series last season in Farmville, with Longwood coming out on top in each of the three games.

Last Time Out:
  • Fresh off of a conference series win over Charleston Southern, Longwood traveled south to take on the Charlotte 49ers in a midweek non-conference matchup.
  • The Lancers lost an exciting offensive game by a score of 7-9. Longwood recorded 11 hits to Charlotte's 10.
  • All four pitchers on Longwood's staff played in Wednesday's affair.
  • Freshman Maryanna Guy had perhaps the best game of her young career, batting 2-3 with five RBIs off of a double and a home run.
  • Seven different players recorded a hit for Longwood, including multi-hit days from Kayley DeVivi, Korynna Anderson, Lauren Fox, and the aforementioned Guy.
  • After regaining the lead in the top of the fifth inning off of a five-run rally, the 49ers responded in kind with a six-run inning of their own. Charlotte held a 9-7 lead following the fifth and held onto it to claim the midweek victory.
  • Longwood's all-time record against Charlotte moved to 0-3 after the loss.
