PITTSBURGH – Tess Myers set the Duquesne single-game record with 11 3-pointers, finishing with 35 points, as the Dukes beat the Longwood women's basketball team, 89-69, at Kerr Fitness Center Thursday.

Myers was 12-for-18 from the field with five rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot for the Dukes, who were 20-of-38 (52.6 percent) from 3-point range as a team, improving to 6-3 overall on the season.

Senior
Janay Turner paced the Lancers with 18 points, going 4-for-8 from the floor, including four triples herself. Turner didn't miss from the foul line in six attempts.
Anne-Hamilton LeRoy tallied 13 points, four assists, two steals and a block, while
Malea Brown chipped in 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Duquesne shot 31-of-61 (52.5 percent) from the field overall, turned 20 Longwood turnovers into 25 points and outscored the Lancers' bench, 29-19.

The Dukes ran out to a 25-4 through the first quarter before Longwood found its footing in the second to outscore the host, 19-18, in the period and play a competitive second half.

After halftime, the Lancers (2-7) were 6-for-12 from 3-point range, recovering from a 1-for-7 start, made 13 field goals and 14-of-18 from the line.

Longwood was plus-2 on the glass on the day, earning a 38-36 advantage there with 14 offensive boards overall. Â

Nae Bernard (14) and Kaitlyn Ammons (11) also finished with double-digit points for Duquesne.
