Dyer Announces Early Signees For 2024 Class

Lancers Add Seven for Fall 2024

FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood Head Women's Soccer Coach Todd Dyer announced seven early signees to the Longwood women's soccer program on early signing day Wednesday.
 
The seven newcomers hail from a total of five states: Sara Kate George (Springfield, Va. | Lake Braddock HS), Taylor Hoag (Friendsville, Tenn. | Maryville HS), Ava Quinn (Ashland, Ky. | Russell HS), Ella Searcey (Chesterfield, Va. | Midlothian HS), Remi Siner (Leawood, Kan. | Blue Valley North HS), Summer Toone (Berryville, Va. | Clarke County HS), and Berni Wayland (West Linn, Ore. | West Linn HS).
 
"We are really excited about the quality and depth of this class," Dyer said. "Positionally, we've strengthened ourselves on the defensive, midfield, and attacking lines. And this year, more than ever, we've really expanded the geographic reach of our recruiting efforts by bringing in talent from new areas and truly nationwide. We can't wait to see what this group adds to our program."

Lake Braddock HS
 
George will head to Longwood from Springfield, Virginia, where she played soccer and ran track at Lake Braddock High School.
 
She helped lead her team to both the district and region championships in her junior season. In addition, George has earned second team all-district honors in back-to-back seasons as a sophomore and junior. She also was an all-region honorable mention as well.
 
George plans on majoring in kinesiology at Longwood, and she is an honor roll student in the classroom.
 
Taylor HoagTaylor Hoag
5'7 | Forward
Friendsville, Tenn.
Maryville HS
 
Hoag will join the Lancers following her time at Maryville High School in Friendsville, Tennessee. She lettered in all four seasons, building up to a 30-goal, nine-assist senior season.
 
While postseason honors have yet to be released, she was a three-time first team all-district selection in her first three seasons. She also earned first team all-region honors as a sophomore.
 
In her high school career, she posted 57 goals and 35 assists. She broke out with a 15-goal, 16-assist junior season before her eye-popping 30-goal season as a senior.
 
Off the field, she is a member of the National Honor Society, and she also was active with community service with the Adopt-A-Mile program among other opportunities.
 

Ava QuinnAva Quinn
5'2 | Midfield
Ashland, Ky.
Russell HS
 
Quinn will join the Lancers after wrapping up her senior year at Russell High School in Ashland, Kentucky. She helped lead the team to the district and region championship as a freshman, and she holds the school record for career assists with 64.
 
A three-year team captain, she was named second team all-state as a junior and all-state honorable mention as a sophomore. In addition, she earned all-district, all-area and first team all-region honors three times, with postseason accolades not released yet for 2023.
 
This past fall, she had 21 goals and 29 assists, both career bests. She has scored at least 15 goals in each of her last three seasons, and she has had double digit assists in a season three times in four years.
 
A National Honor Society member, she plans on majoring in business administration at Longwood.
 

Ella SearceyElla Searcey
5'3 | Midfield
Chesterfield, Va.
Midlothian HS
 
Searcey will come to Longwood following her time at Midlothian High School. The Chesterfield native played varsity soccer there every season, with her senior season coming this spring.
 
She earned first team all-region honors as a junior after being named second team all-region as a sophomore.
 
This past spring, she had three assists from a holding midfield role, and she started 15 of the 18 matches she played.
 
A National Honor Society member, she also volunteered for the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Foundation. At Longwood, she plans on majoring in communication sciences and disorders with a minor in neuroscience studies with the goal of becoming a speech pathologist.
 

Remi SinerRemi Siner
5'7 | Outside back
Leawood, Kan.
Blue Valley North HS
 
Siner will head to Longwood following her time at Blue Valley North High School in Leawood, Kansas. She played varsity soccer in 2021 and 2022, earning a varsity letter her freshman year.
 
As a junior, Siner dedicated her time to playing with her club team.
 
A National Honor Society member, Singer has more than 70 hours of community service during her time in high school.
 
 
Summer TooneSummer Toone
5'7 | Outside back/Winger
Berryville, Va.
Clarke County HS
 
Toone will join the Lancers following her career at Clarke County High School.
 
The Berryville native helped lead her side to a pair of 2A state championships, and she still has one more season to play this coming spring.
 
During her high school career, Toone has earned all-state honors.
 
She follows her sister, Dani Toone, who graduated from Longwood after playing four seasons for the Lancers.
 

Bernice WaylandBerni Wayland
5'9 | Center back
West Linn, Ore.
West Linn HS
 
Wayland will come to Longwood following her time at West Linn High School in Oregon. In 2022, she helped lead her team to the state finals for the first time in school history.
 
A team captain, Wayland was a first team all-league defender. She plays club ball as well for North West Elite in the ECNL.
 
In addition to soccer, she also played two seasons of softball, and she is the first chair cellist in the symphony orchestra at West Linn HighSchool.
