FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood Head Women's Soccer Coach
Todd Dyer released the team's 2026 schedule today.
Â
The Lancers, as always, play a challenging non-conference slate full of regional opponents before diving into an eight-match gauntlet in the Big South.
Â
This season, the team's schedule features nine home matches at the Longwood Athletic Complex balanced against eight road tests.
Â
Longwood opens the season with back-to-back exhibitions, first at Liberty (Aug. 5) before hosting William & Mary (Aug. 8). The team's regular season opener is against Campbell (Aug. 13) in a matchup of former Big South foes.
Â
The Lancers then embark on their longest road trip of the season, with three straight away from home. The first comes at ODU (Aug.16), a team that was the second seed in the Sun Belt a season ago, before trips to American (Aug. 23) and VMI (Aug. 27) close it out. Longwood closes August at home against SoCon power ETSU (Aug. 30).
Â
In September, the Lancers open with a trip to Commonwealth rival Richmond (Sept. 3) before hosting five straight home matches that also includes the start of Big South play. The Lancers face Hampton (Sept. 3), George Mason (Sept. 10) and UMBC (Sept. 13) to close out non-conference action.
Â
Longwood then opens Big South play against the two teams that played in the Big South Championship last season in High Point (Sept. 19) and USC Upstate (Sept. 26).
Â
The Lancers then close September on the road at Winthrop (Sept. 30) before returning home to open October against Charleston Southern (Oct. 3). The team plays three of its final four away from home in the month, with trips to UNC Asheville (Oct. 10), Presbyterian (Oct. 17) and Gardner-Webb (Oct. 31) squeezed around a home date with rival Radford (Oct. 14).
Â
The Big South Championship begins in November, with the top six teams qualifying for the conference tournament. The top two seeds receive byes directly into the Big South Semifinals. The Big South Quarterfinals take place on Thursday, Nov. 5 at the higher seed in the matchup, and the remainder of the tournament is at the Matthews Sports Complex on Tuesday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 15.
