WILMINGTON, N.C- The Longwood women's tennis team wrapped up a weekend of play at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Invitational on Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lancers as a team won three singles matches throughout the weekend.
Emma Nurgazieva, Maria Saez and Sophia Marchetta all claimed the singles wins.Â
In doubles, Longwood claimed six victories across the weekend. The tandem of Nurgazieva and Wiktoria Czerny led the way with victories over duos from Davidson and Appalachian State. Saez and Nina Hederich also picked up a pair of wins in four matches played as a duo. Marchetta and Alexis Broderick also picked up a pair of wins over a team from Davidson and a tandem from UNC Wilmington.

""The girls competed really well in Wilmington and came together as a team," said director of tennis Adam Jackson after the weekend in North Carolina. "Their growth this fall is visible and we are excited for the spring."
