FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood women's basketball will be hosting a book drive in conjunction with the
Virginia Children's Book Festival (VCBF) at Wednesday night's game against Drexel. Fans receive free admission to the game by bringing a children's book to donate to the VCBF.
The VCBF, headquartered in downtown Farmville, is a non-profit that has been promoting children's reading comprehension in the Farmville area and state of Virginia for many years. Every October, the VCBF hosts its annual festival on Longwood's campus, which is a free event open to the public.
Longwood University and the women's basketball team invites everyone to continue to support this great cause by bringing a children's book with them to donate before the team's tilt against Drexel. Fans can gain free admission to the game by bringing a new or gently used children's book to donate. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. from Willett Hall.
