The Opening Tip
•    In the final game of the regular season, Longwood hosts Hampton Wednesday in Willett Hall for a rematch of an 83-73 Longwood win on Feb. 15.
•    The game will be Longwood's first split series of the Big South season. The Lancers last played Hampton nine days ago. During that span, Longwood swept a road series at Charleston Southern.
•    Longwood's 10 Big South wins are the most in program history, surpassing the nine that the 2019-20 Lancers won en route to a fourth-place finish.
•    Juan Munoz was named College Sports Madness Big South Player of the Week Monday after averaging 17.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game in three games, all wins.
•    Prior to tipoff Wednesday, Longwood will honor its senior class of Juan Munoz and Ilija Stefanovic for Senior Day. Munoz is an MBA graduate student, while Stefanovic is a business major.

Last Time Out
•    Extending their winning streak to five games, the Lancers swept Charleston Southern in a two-game road series to reach 10 Big South wins for the first time in program history.
•    Longwood's Big South-leading defense held the Buccaneers to an average of 60.0 points per game, a .357 field goal percentage and a .304 three-point percentage. The Lancers forced 34 turnovers during the two-game set while racking up double-digit steals in both games.
•    Juan Munoz led the team in scoring both games, pouring in 17 points in game one and 14 more in game two. He hit five treys while also racking up a combined six steals.
•    Nate Lliteras also made big contributions off the bench, scoring 12 points in the opener and five more in the finale. Lliteras shot 4-of-6 from long range and hit three treys in game one.

By The Numbers
•    Longwood has won five games in a row, the most consecutive wins against Division I foes in the program's Division I era since 2004-05.
•    The Lancers' eight wins in the past nine games is the program's winningest nine-game stretch since the 2000-01 Lancers opened the season 8-1. That Lancer squad, led by NCAA D-II Player of the Year Colin Ducharme, went 10-1 to start the year, was ranked as high as No. 21 nationally, reached the NCAA Division II Tournament, and finished 23-8 under head coach Mike Leeder.
•    The Lancers are on a six-game winning streak in Willett Hall and are 8-4 at home this season. A win against Hampton would be Longwood's best home record since joining the Big South in 2012-13.
•    The Lancers are 6-2 when they have a 20-point scorer this season. Munoz has a season-high three of those and five for his career. DeShaun Wade and Justin Hill have two 20-point games apiece, while Leslie Nkereuwem has one.
•    The Lancer bench is outscoring opponents by an average of 8.5 points per game this season. Longwood's reserves are averaging 25.5 points per game, compared to 17.0 by the opposition.
•    Since 2018-19, Longwood has amassed a 14-6 record in February. The Lancers are 5-0 this month after going 7-2 in February last season.
•    Longwood is 6-0 this season when holding opponents under 60 points. Five of those wins have come since Jan. 19.
•    Justin Hill's average of 11.3 points per game ranks as the second most by a Longwood freshman in the Division I era since 2004-05. Only 6-9, 205-pound forward Michael Kessens, who averaged 13.7 per game in 2012-13, scored more.
•    Freshman Jesper Granlund has started every game and is one of only three Big South freshmen to do so.

Quotable
"We believed this team was a really talented group and was playing good basketball even when the wins weren't coming. We talk a lot about pouring into the root and trusting the process, and I know it's cliché but they've really done that. Good things have started to happen, and I'm so excited they're starting to see the fruit."
— Longwood head coach Griff Aldrich following this past Friday's 64-58 win at Charleston Southern

Series History
•    Longwood and Hampton meet for the 12th time in series history and second time this season this Wednesday in Farmville, Va.
•    Longwood took the first meeting 83-73 on Feb. 15, 2021, behind 21 points from Juan Munoz and a defensive effort that produced 14 turnovers. Munoz was 7-of-12 from three-point range in the game and also added five assists.
•    Hampton leads the all-time series 8-3 and is 5-2 against the Lancers since joining the Big South in 2018-19.
•    The Pirates are 3-2 against Longwood in Big South regular-season matchups.
