FARMVILLE, Va. - Longwood women's tennis got back on track Sunday morning, downing Mount Saint Mary's, 4-0 on a chilly morning in Farmville.

The Lancers collected four more singles wins in the victory, improving their record to 24-15 in singles in 2020. Longwood notched the doubles point after Maria Saez and Yulia Almiron defeated the Mountaineers' Megan Smith and Mia Pittman-- Crystal Nzewi and Emma Nurgazieva received the walkover win to clinch the doubles win for the Lancers. 

In singles, Jamie Breunig and Crystal Nzewi got Longwood off to a quick start-- Breunig was flawless, beating the Mount's Mia Pittman 6-0, 6-0 to get Longwood their second point. Nzewi dropped just one game in her win, beating Bri Gallagher of the Mountaineers, 6-0, 6-1. Marija Venta collected Longwood's final point with a walkover win in singles to secure the victory, 4-0. 

With the win, Longwood improved to 5-2 on the season. Sunday's victory was a bounce back win for the Lancers, who dropped their Big South opener on Thursday to Campbell. 

Longwood will be right back in action on Monday morning, when they face North Carolina A&T on Monday, March 2. The dual will serve as the last tuneup before three upcoming Big South duals.
