The Opening Tip
•    Longwood hosts Big South unbeaten Winthrop in the midst of a three-game homestand in five days this Saturday. The Lancers opened the homestand by beating Charleston Southern Thursday and close it by hosting Campbell on Monday. 
•    The Lancers enter Saturday afternoon's matchup  winners of three of their past four games with their lone loss during that span to Big South preseason No. 1 Radford. 
•    Senior forward JaShaun Smith became the 23rd player in program history to crack the 1,000 point threshold against Charleston Southern. He ranks eighth on Longwood's Division I scoring list with 1,006 career points and will be honored prior to tipoff for reaching the 1,000-point plateau.
•    The Lancers have hit at least 10 three-pointers in five consecutive games, their longest streak under head coach Griff Aldrich. The Lancers are shooting .388 (59-of-152) from three-point range during that span.

Last Time Out
•    Longwood senior guard Shabooty Phillips poured in 23 points, 15 after halftime, to lead Longwod past Charleston Southern 71-63 on Thursday night in Willett Hall. 
•    Senior forward JaShaun Smith recorded his 1,000th point on the game's opening possession, and the Lancers never looked back. Longwood led for the final 35:31 of game time. 
•    Sophomore guard DeShaun Wade added 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting and swiped three steals, his second straight multi-steal performance, while point guard Juan Munoz continued his climb up Big South leaderboards with five assists and three steals. Junior Jordan Cintron snatched up a career-high seven offensive rebounds on the way to 10 rebounds in the game.
•    Longwood controlled nearly every facet of the game and was boosted by a bevy of hustle plays that produced 10 steals, 12 offensive rebounds and 16 second-chance points. 

By The Numbers
•    Longwood is tied for first in the Big South in made three-pointers with 219, trailing only Winthrop's 222. Both teams also lead the conference in attempted three-pointers. 
•    Point guard Juan Munoz has hit a three-pointer in 11 consecutive games and multiple treys in nine of those contests. He is shooting .439 (29-of-66) from long range during that stretch.
•    Munoz also has a steal in 16 consecutive games. His 40 swipes are the most by a Lancer since Aldrich took over the program in 2018-19. 
•    Over the past five games, Longwood has assisted on 61.9 percent of its made field goals, compared to just 40.1 percent in its 10 games prior.
•    Longwood's defense has amassed 91 steals in Big South play, tied with Winthrop for the most in league play.
•    Big South opponents have turned the ball over 166 times against Longwood this season, the third most in the conference behind Winthrop (187) and UNC Asheville (174).
•    Longwood has made at least 10 three-pointers in five consecutive games, including a season-high 14 in back-to-back games against Radford and Gardner-Webb. The Lancers are shooting .388 (59-of-152) from three-point range during that span while scoring 50.9 percent of their points from long range. Longwood has won three of those five contests.
•    With the first bucket of the game against Charleston Southern, JaShaun Smith cracked the 1,000-point plateau. He became only the 23rd player in program history and the eighth in the Division I era to reach that milestone. He is also on pace to break Longwood's D-I three-point percentage record. 
•    Longwood is 5-2 when holding opponents under 40.0 percent shooting from the field and 9-3 when shooting 40.0 percent or better from the field.

Series History
•    Longwood and Winthrop meet for the second time in 2020 and 16th time in series history, with Winthrop holding a 12-3 all-time lead.
•    The Big South foes met just once during the 2018-19 season, with Longwood traveling to Rock Hill, S.C. and picking up a road win.
•    In the last meeting, Winthrop poured in 16 three's to run away from the Lancers in a 91-67 win. The 16 three's allowed mark a season-high allowed by the Lancer defense.
•    Senior forward JaShaun Smith has faced Winthrop six times in his career, the most of any Lancer in Longwood's lineup. He has scored in double figures in four of those six outings.
