Biography
2019-20: A high-level athlete who plays the game with a relentless motor…has the size, strength and athleticism to change the game when on the floor…consistently leads the team in hustle points and effort plays…an explosive leaper with one of the highest vertical jumps on the team…a hard-nosed defender who is relentless in pursuit, both on and off the ball…has the skills to play multiple positions on the floor…improved his three-point shooting ability last season to become a respectable threat on the perimeter.
2018-19: Made significant strides as a sophomore, playing in all 34 games with 11 starts…the first sub off Longwood’s bench 10 times…set career highs in every category, including scoring (5.9), rebounding (4.1), assists (0.6) and steals (0.9)…also improved his shooting efficiency with career highs in field goal percentage (.474), three-point percentage (.310) and free throw percentage (.644)…scored in double figures seven times after doing so once as a freshman…posted a pair of double-doubles, doing so with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the season-opening win against Randolph (Nov. 6) and again with another 13-10 performance in a one-point overtime loss to Gardner-Webb (Feb. 7)…Longwood’s second-leading bench scorer with 5.7 points per game…scored in double figures in three of his final nine games…swiped the second-most steals on the team with 30…had five games with at least three steals, including two of his final five outings.
2017-18: Worked his way into the rotation by the second half of the season, playing in 27 games while averaging 13.9 minutes per game…averaged 2.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game…amassed 18 steals…scored a career-high 10 points while grabbing seven rebounds in a win over Presbyterian on Jan. 3…hit 4-of-6 field goals in that game while also adding two assists, a block and a steal…played 20-plus minutes six times…played at least 10 minutes in 22 of his 27 games…played a key role in helping Longwood upset High Point in the first round of the Big South Championship, racking up three steals, three points and four rebounds in the Feb. 27 postseason opener…the three steals against High Point were a career high.
High School: Played high school basketball at DeWitt Clinton High School in Bronx, N.Y., and a postgraduate year at Bull City Prep in Durham, N.C….at Bull City Prep, averaged 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game...prior to postgrad year, averaged 13.3 points, 9.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game as a senior at DeWitt Clinton...served as team captain as a senior and led the team in points, rebounds and steals…also posted four double-doubles that year…totaled four triple-doubles during his prep career…as a junior, averaged 3.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game…posted sophomore averages of 12.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game…volunteered with relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy.
Personal: Born Jordan Daniel Cintron on June 11, 1998…son of Daniel Cintron and Lissette Casillas…has six siblings: Michael, Jacob, Justice, Jose, Joshua and Daniel Jr….plays both the guitar and piano.
