The Opening Tip
•   Playing its second game in a three-day span, Longwood hosts future Big South member North Carolina A&T Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Willett Hall.
•   The Aggies are slated to become Longwood's newest Big South neighbor starting in the 2021-22 school year, which will expand the league's men's basketball membership to 12 teams.
•   The Lancers are 18-12 in Willett Hall under third-year head coach
Griff Aldrich.
•   Longwood's roster is laden with new faces, as 10 of the team's 17 players had not suited up in a Lancer uniform prior to the season opener. Six of those newcomers have debuted this season.
•   Each of Longwood's first three starting lineups this season has featured four players who had never started the games for the Lancers before 2020-21. Two of those,
Jesper Granlund and
Justin Hill, are true freshmen.
Last Time Out
•   Led by guard Greyson Collins' third straight 20-point game, Greensboro held off Longwood's second-half surge to edge out the Lancers 67-64 Sunday afternoon in Willett Hall.
•   Collins was one of three double-figure scorers for Greensboro, joining Keevon Meertins (19 points) and Matthew Brown (16).
•   The loss snapped Longwood's three-game home winning streak on Jerome Kersey Court and was the Lancers' first defeat in a home opener under third-year head coach
Griff Aldrich.
•   Facing a shorthanded Longwood team without key guards
Heru Bligen,
Jermaine Drewey and
DeShaun Wade, Greensboro shot .473 (26-of-55) from the field
•  Â
Justin Hill finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals, while
Christian Wilson scored 15 and
Juan Munoz 10.
By The Numbers
•   Freshman point guard
Justin Hill is the first Lancer freshman since Michael Kessens in 2012-13 to begin his collegiate career with three consecutive double-figure scoring games.
•   The 6-0, 185-pound Hill leads the team with 8.0 points in the paint per game.

•   Redshirt freshman forward
Bennett Mohn has hit 5 of his first 8 three-point attempts to begin his collegiate career. He has hit at least one three in each of his first three games.
•   Since head coach
Griff Aldrich took over the Lancer program in 2018-19, Longwood has made the second-most three-pointers in the Big South. With 646 made treys in that span, only Winthrop (700) has hit more.
•   Sophomore forward
Leslie Nkereuwem led Longwood with a .585 (48-of-82) field goal percentage as a true freshman last season and leads Longwood again this year with a .769 (10-of-13) clip. Nine of his 10 field goals have come in the paint, and a team-high four of those have been dunks.
•   Junior
Zac Watson and freshman
Jesper Granlund are tied for third in the Big South with seven offensive rebounds each. Both are also tied for seventh in the conference with three blocks apiece.
•   Longwood has used the same starting lineup in each of its first three games. Redshirt junior
Juan Munoz is the lone member of the group who is a returning starter from 2019-20.

Jesper Granlund and point guard
Justin Hill are both averaging more than 30.0 minutes per game.
Quotable
"If you do not respect the details of the game, then those that do will be rewarded. In the first half we didn't respect it."
— Longwood head coach
Griff Aldrich after Sunday's loss to Greensboro
