Karleigh Donovan of the Longwood softball team were named to the Big South All-Tournament Team, as announced Saturday by the Big South.
The Big South All-Tournament Team honors is the second of Gay's career at Longwood. She pitched 17.2 innings throughout Longwood's three games, including 7.2 innings of one run softball in Longwood's 12 inning loss to Radford in the Big South semifinals. Gay added 12 strikeouts to her outing throughout the tournament.
The Big South runner-up in the Pitcher of the Year voting, Gay was one of two pitchers across the league to finish her season with 150-plus innings while finishing tied for the league best with 25 wins throughout the regular season.
Meanwhile, Donovan earns Big South All-Tournament Team honors for the second consecutive season, batting a team-high .364 in Longwood's three games with a pair of multi-hit games, a pair of RBI and a pair of doubles throughout.
An All-Big South Second Team selection in 2018, Donovan collected hits in nine of her final 11 games of the season with five multi-hit games in that span.
Longwood has advanced to the semifinals of the Big South Championship in all six of its seasons in the league. Just the second program in Big South history to win three consecutive conference championships, Longwood finished the season with its fifth consecutive season with 30-plus victories while posting at least 35 wins in a campaign in six of its campaigns since moving to Division I.
