The Opening Tip
•   In the midst of their best 10-game start since making the jump to the Division I level in 2004-05, Longwood takes a 7-3 record to The Keystone State for a Sunday showdown against Duquesne.
•   The Lancers last won at least seven of their first 10 games came in 2000-01 under head coach Mike Leeder, opening that season 9-1. Longwood has started 7-3 or better just 11 times in the program's 41-year history.
•   Duquesne is the second Atlantic 10 opponent Longwood has faced this season after defeating Richmond 63-58 on Nov. 9 in Richmond.
•   Former Longwood point guard Tra'Vaughn White ('17) began his college career at Duquesne before transferring prior to the 2015-16 season.
•   Longwood has held all but two opponents to fewer than 70 points. The Lancers rank 13th in the nation allowing 60.1 points per game and 14th with a .374 opponent field goal percentage.

•   Longwood needed a double-double from
Damarion Geter and seven points in overtime from
JaShaun Smith to survive an upset bid by Division III Frostburg State 68-65 Friday evening in Willett Hall.
•   Backed by a 33-point, 12-rebound night from leading scorer Daniel Alexander, Frostburg State forced overtime after battling to a 57-57 deadlock at the end of regulation.
•   Alexander carried the Bobcats and finished 12-of-23 from the floor with just two turnovers while playing all 45 minutes.
•   For Longwood, Geter finished with 10 points and a team-high 13 rebounds with eight of those coming on the offensive glass. He added three steals, two blocks and a pair of assists and was one of five double-digit scorers, leading Smith (12),
Shabooty Phillips (13), Seán Flood (13) and

Griff Aldrich is among the winningest first-year head coaches in Division I basketball this season, ranking tied for 10th on that 55-member list with a .700 (7-3) winning percentage,.
•   Of the 18 new Division I head coaches who inherited single-digit-win teams from a year ago, Aldrich is tied with Pitt's Jeff Capel for the highest winning percentage and most wins.
•   Longwood leads the Big South in opponent scoring average (60.1), opponent field goal percentage (.374) and rebounding margin (+5.2).
•   Along with leading the Big South, Longwood ranks 13th nationally in opponent scoring average and 14th in opponent field goal percentage.
•   Longwood has held eight of its 10 opponents to fewer than 70 points.
•   Longwood is 3-2 in games decided by one possession this season.

Isaiah Walton has missed the past five games, during which Longwood has gone 3-2, compared to 4-1 with him in the lineup. The Lancers average 68.2 points per game with Walton compared to 62.4 without him.
•   Longwood has outrebounded eight of its first 10 opponents grabs an average of 79.8 percent of rebounds on their glass.

Series History
•   Longwood and Duquesne meet for the first time Sunday in Pittsburgh, Pa.
•   Duquesne is the second Atlantic 10 team Longwood has faced this season following the Lancers' 63-58 win over Commonwealth rival Richmond on Nov. 9.
•   The trip to Pennsylvania will be Longwood's first since Nov. 23, 2016, when the Lancers faced Saint Francis in Loretto, Pa.
