HARBINGER, N.C. – Jordan Boulton of the Longwood men's golf team carded a 4-over par 75 and sits one shot outside the top 25, as the Longwood men's golf team overcame difficult scoring conditions with wind gusts of 20-30 miles per hour on day one of the Old Dominion/OBX Collegiate Sunday at the 6,502-yard, par 71 Kilmarlic Golf Club.

Boulton posted a team-best four birdies en route to his four-over 75, as he's three shots outside the top 10.

Longwood ended the day 14th overall on the team leaderboard among the field of 18 teams after turning in a 24-over par 308. Campbell holds the first round lead after carding the only under-par round of the day with a 7-under par 277 while UNC Wilmington (+3, 287), Drexel (+9, 293), Georgetown (+11, 295) and Winthrop (+13, 297) round out the top five teams.

"I think the goal for most teams was to hang in there as well as possible today," said Longwood head coach Kevin Fillman. "It was not pleasant by any stretch, so that was certainly a goal for us going into the round. Needless to say, we didn't handle the conditions as well as we wanted in a lot of cases."

Adam Szwed posted a 5-over par 76 and ended the day T-38 overall, while Colin Caporal continued his strong play with a 6-over par 77 to sit T-44 on the leaderboard.

Junior Brandon Weaver turned in a 9-over par 80 to finish his day T-74 overall while Teagan Stephenson rounded out the Longwood scores with a 12-over par 83 and is T-83 on the leaderboard.

"The good news is that we have a lot golf tournament left and about half the field is only a few shots under us," Fillman said. "We just need to go play a solid round tomorrow and jump as many teams as we can."

The second round of the Old Dominion/OBX Collegiate is set to be played Monday, Oct. 22 with the Lancers to tee off beginning at 9:15 a.m. on the 10th tee.
