The Opening Tip
• Longwood looks to collect its second straight win Tuesday as the Lancers hosts Gardner-Webb in an Education Day contest starting at 11:30 a.m.
• With five double-doubles in her last nine games, Autumn Childress has recorded the most double-doubles in the Big South this season. She's the lone player in the Big South currently averaging a double-double with her 10.5 points and a conference-leading 10.3 rebounds per game.
• Longwood point guard Micaela Ellis enters Tuesday's game two assists shy of moving into the top 10 in the program's record books for assists in a career. A product of Oak Park, Mich., Ellis has recorded 299 assists throughout her four-year career at Longwood. She has started 43 consecutive games for the Lancers dating back to senior day of the 2015-16 season.

By The Numbers
• The Lancers are in their 11th season in the Division I era and sixth season as a full member of the Big South Conference.
• Longwood welcomes nine newcomers for the 2017-18 season -- the most within the Big South Conference
• Longwood is in its eighth season under the guidance of head coach Bill Reinson. In 2013, Reinson led the Lancers to the Big South Championship game falling to Liberty.
• Longwood athletics has partnered with regional telecommunications company Shentel to air all home basketball games on a dedicated Shentel channel, extending the Lancers' broadcast footprint to the company's coverage areas in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Shentel subscribers can watch Longwood men's and women's basketball's Big South Network broadcasts on channel 81.
• Longwood will take part in four Education Day's this season with two coming at home and two on the road. The four Education Days are tied for the most in the conference with Gardner-Webb, as seven of the 10 schools in the conference will play at least one Education Day.
• Junior college transfer Kristina Antonenko matched Longwood's Division I record for most points in a single game with 33 points in Longwood's loss at N.C. Central Tuesday. The 33 points is the most by any player in the Big South in the early portion of the season.

Last Time Out
• Three double figure scorers along with Longwood's top offensive and defensive performances of the season led the Lancers to a 66-56 win over Presbyterian Saturday afternoon inside Willett Hall in a game in which Longwood never trailed.
• One game after its worst defensive performance of the season Tuesday at Charleston Southern – allowing the Buccaneers to shoot .509 as a team – the Lancers put the clamps down on the defensive end of the court in limiting the Blue Hose to .346 (18-of-52) for the game.
Dayna Rouse (14), Kate Spradlin (11) and Micaela Ellis (11) each finished in double figures, as Autumn Childress finished two points shy of collecting her sixth double-double of the season with eight points, 11 rebounds. That group led a Lancer squad that saw all nine players who saw game action find the scoring column.

Scouting the Runnin' Bulldogs
• After closing the non-conference portion of its schedule on an eight game win streak, Gardner-Webb has split its first two games in Big South play falling in overtime at High Point before earning a win over preseason favorite Radford Saturday.
• The Runnin' Bulldogs are led in scoring by Big South leading scorer Tierra Huntsman, who's averaging 17.3 points per game. In addition, reigning Big South Player of the Week Alexus Hill ranks among the top-five in scoring at 15.4 points per contest.
• Huntsman also leads her squad in rebounding, pulling down 6.4 per game. Hill (5.1), along with Savannah Plentovich (5.6) and Celia Tibbs (5.2) also are averaging at least five boards per contest.
• Huntsman has seven games with 20-plus points this season but comes into Tuesday's game on the heels of her lowest point total of the season with just four points against Radford.
• As a group, Gardner-Webb has been strong defensively limiting opponents to a conference-low .232 shooting beyond the arc and ranking second in the league defensively in holding opponents to .348 shooting.
