BLACKSBURG, Va. – Almost one month after competing in the Queen City Scramble at Queens University of Charlotte, the veteran tandem of
Jamie Breunig and
Marija Venta took to the court in the ITA Atlantic Regionals Round of 64 in doubles play Friday afternoon.
Facing off against Commonwealth foe VCU, the co-aces Breunig and Venta battled but fell short Friday 8-2 to their Ram counterparts.
Venta isn't done at the tournament as singles play gets into swing Saturday morning from Virginia Tech when the sophomore Ljubljana, Slovenia, native is slated to take on No. 14 seed Ines Milosevic from Penn State.
With a win Saturday, Venta would advance to the Round of 32 set to take place Sunday, as well as quarterfinals action.
