FARMVILLE, Va.
– High Point displayed crisp ball movement, collecting a season-high 25 assists with three players finishing in double figures to take down Longwood, 80-49, Tuesday night inside Willett Hall.

The Big South's top-scoring offense this season was paced by Emma Bockrath who secured her third double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Kaylah Keys added 19 and Lindsey Edwards had 13 off the bench.

The trio of Bockrath, Keys and Edwards led the Panthers to a .525 (31-of-59) shooting clip, marking their second consecutive game above the .500 mark. Furthermore, High Point made a season-high 12 three-pointers on .500 shooing, led by at least three from Brockrath and Keys.

Keys finished the night an efficient 6-of-7 from the floor with five made three-pointers. The senior guard also dished out six assists in the effort, as she was one of four Panthers with four assists.

High Point (7-13, 5-4 Big South) earns its second straight win to move into a four-way tie for fourth-place in the Big South standings at the midway point of the conference season. Longwood (3-17, 0-9 Big South) drops its ninth straight game.

Longwood was led by a season-high 16 points from Autumn Childress, making 6-of-12 (.500) field goals in just 28 minutes. Since Childress has returned from injury that cost her 11 games out of the lineup, she has averaged 11.3 points per game.

Childress was joined by Ciarah Bennett as the only two Lancers in double figures, finishing with 12 points and three assists in 20 minutes. She combined with Micaela Ellis for seven of Longwood's nine assist on the night, as Ellis extended her streak of three-plus assists to 10 straight games.

High Point opened a 22-7 lead in the opening quarter thanks to a 9-for-15 (.600) shooting clinic in the first quarter. Longwood pulled within 12 points midway through the second quarter, but was never able to draw any closer.

Longwood debuted pink jerseys in their annual Pink Game to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Longwood opens the second half of Big South play with a two-game road stretch, beginning at Campbell Saturday, Feb. 4. The opening tip from Gore Arena is set for 2 p.m.
