The Opening Tip
•    Longwood is off to its first 2-0 Big South start in school history, vaulting to the top of the conference standings after defeating Campbell 79-77 in the Big South opener on Dec. 29 and turning around fewer than 48 hours later to take down four-time reigning Big South champion High Point on New Year's Eve.
•    Wednesday's Big South Network broadcast will be simulcast locally on Shentel channel 81, marking the start of a season-long partnership with Farmville's local cable provider. Nearly every Big South Network production from Longwood's campus will air on channel 81 for the rest of the season.
•    Longwood currently has just eight scholarship players available with Damarion Geter (foot), Jahleem Montague (knee) and Juan Munoz (knee) out with injuries and Kendrick Thompson out due to non-disciplinary personal reasons.
•    Saturday's game is Longwood's third straight New Year's Eve contest. The Lancers are 0-3 on New Year's Eve in the Division I era.

Last Time Out
•    Longwood improved to 2-0 in the Big South for the first time in school history after upsetting reigning regular season champion High Point 79-77 on the Panther's home floor in the Millis Convocation Center on New Year's Eve.
•    Khris Lane went off for the second straight game, racking up 18 points and seven rebounds after torching Campbell for 30 points and eight boards in Thursday's 79-77 conference-opening win.
•    Isaiah Walton poured in 16 points and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds and hit the go-ahead layup with 1:41 to play to give the Lancers the lead for good.
•    The win was Longwood's first against High Point since joining the Big South in 2012-13, snapping an eight-game losing streak to the Panthers.
•    Longwood outrebounded High Point 37-35 and got 11 points on second-chance opportunities.

By The Numbers
•    After allowing 80.6 points per game in non-conference play, Longwood has held its first two Big South opponents to just 66.0 points per game in back-to-back wins over Campbell and High Point.
•    The Lancers held High Point — the Big South's top three-point shooting team — to just .267 (4-of-15) shooting from long range and 55 points in a 60-55 win on New Year's Eve. Both of those numbers were High Point's second lowest this season.
•    After outrebounding just one of their first 11 opponents, the Lancers have outrebounded each of their first two Big South foes by an average of 3.5 per game. The guard duo of Darrion Allen and Isaiah Walton has combined to grab 11.0 rebounds per game in those two games.
•    Reigning Big South Player of the Week Khris Lane averaged 24.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 assists per game last week. He shot .568 (21-of-37) from the floor and .429 (3-of-7) from three-point range in wins over Campbell and High Point, leading the team both nights with 30 points against Campbell and 18 against High Point.
•    Guards Darrion Allen and Isaiah Walton and forward Khris Lane have combined for 63.7 percent of Longwood's scoring, or 42.3 points per game. All three rank among the Big South's top 10 in scoring and have a combined 31 of Longwood's 42 double-figure scoring games.
•    Walton has a team-high 11 of those double-figure games, while Allen and Lane both have 10 apiece.
•    Longwood is 4-2 this season when Allen, Walton and Lane all score in double figures.
•    Freshman forward JaShaun Smith has multiple blocks in four straight games, amassing 10 during that span, including a pair in each of the first two Big South games of his career. Despite playing just five minutes in Longwood's first three games, the 6-5, 200-pound Smith ranks fifth in the Big South with 1.3 blocks per game.
