FARMVILLE, Va. – Behind a .511 shooting clip and three double figure scorers, Campbell was able to overcome an early first quarter deficit en route to a 66-54 win over Longwood Saturday afternoon inside Willett Hall.
The win for Campbell marks their second straight, as the Camels (13-4, 5-1 Big South) move into solo second-place in the Big South standings. With their 13-4 mark, Campbell matches the 1990-91 squad for its best start in its NCAA era to a season. Meanwhile, Longwood (3-14, 0-6 Big South) suffers its sixth straight defeat to open the conference schedule.
With her second straight 20-plus point game, Summer Price led three Camels in double figures with 20 points on 8-of-15 field goals and 4-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc. It marked the third game this season Price has finished with 20-plus points, as she stuffed the stat sheet with three assists and a steal in 34 minutes.
With 12 of her 15 points coming in the second half Caroline Bowns, along with eight from Price and seven of 12 from Makala Rouse, helped the Camels shoot a scorching .619 (13-21) in the second half, including a 7-of-14 (.500) performance from the three-point line.

After Longwood opened an eight point lead after a quarter on .500 (5-10) shooting, Campbell's top-ranked defense in the NCAA buckled down and held the Lancers to just 11 field goals and a .275 clip for the remainder of the game.
With Campbell clamping down on the defensive end of the floor, the Camels opened a 23-point advantage midway through the fourth quarter, before Longwood was able to battle back, courtesy of a combined 13 points from Hall and Spradlin during a 20-7 run to cut the lead to 10 points with less than a minute in regulation.
