LYNCHBURG, Va. –
A 23-7 second quarter run, along with four double figure scorers helped Liberty cruise to a 92-47 win over Longwood Tuesday night inside the Vines Center.

Liberty's run to close the second quarter helped the Flames extend their lead from 13 to 29 points, as eight different Flames throughout the stretch. The run, sparked by eight of Liberty's 42 points in the paint, gave the Flames their largest lead (29) heading into the half.

The Liberty defense was stout as well, limiting the Lancers to .321 (18-of-56) from the floor, including a 4-of-22 (.182) effort from beyond the arc. In the decisive opening half, Liberty was especially impressive in holding Longwood to .259 shooting while forcing 12 Lancer turnovers.

With the win, Liberty (5-11, 4-1 Big South) has earned wins in four of their last five games. Meanwhile, Longwood (3-13, 0-5 Big South) drops its fifth straight contest since opening its Big South schedule.

Sheana Vega paced the Flames scoring effort with a team-high 14 points, while KK Barbour (12), Keyen Green (11) and Nene Johnson (10) all finished in double figures. All 14 Flames who saw playing time scored in the game with each player playing at least seven minutes.

Eboni Giliam finished in double figures for the 10th time this season, pacing the Lancers with a game-high 16 points to go along with three rebounds and a pair of blocks. For Gilliam, it marked her second straight game in double figures, coming off a double-double performance Saturday at Radford.

Meanwhile, Khaila Hall joined Gilliam in double figures while stuffing the stat sheet with 10 points, four rebounds, two blocks, two assists and a steal in 27 minutes.

Kate Spradlin finished one point shy of double figures for the second straight game, finishing with nine to go along with two rebounds, two assists and three steals. A product of Blue Ridge, Va., Spradlin, along with Micaela Ellis, played all 40 minutes throughout, as the pair were two of four Lancers with 25-plus minutes.
