ROCK HILL, S.C. –
On the strength of a four-RBI performance by Campbell third baseman Rachel McCollum, No. 5 seed Campbell pulled off a 5-2 upset win against top-seeded Longwood Thursday afternoon  in the Big South Championship Quarterfinals at Terry Field.

With inclement weather in the Rock Hill area throughout Thursday afternoon and evening, Longwood's elimination game against Presbyterian has been pushed to Friday at 11:30 a.m. The winner of that game will move on to face the winner of Coastal Carolina or Liberty in the semifinals.

McCollum went 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of home runs, including her go-ahead three-run homer in the fifth inning that put the Camels ahead for good and propelled them into the conference semifinals. The loss marks the first for the regular season Big South champion Lancers in the double-elimination tournament.

Campbell scored four unanswered runs to take a 4-2 lead in the fifth inning following McCollum's second home run during the hitting spree. The pair of home runs from McCollum marked her 15th and 16th of the season. Bailey Bjorson added a blast in the fifth inning to give the Camels a three-run cushion.

Freshman catcher Kaylynn Batten hit an RBI base hit in the third inning to fuel a pair of runs that gave Longwood a 2-0 lead. Batten singled up the middle to bring home Carly Adams from second base before Emily Murphy scored on a sacrifice fly from Krista Kelly.

Elizabeth McCarthy started in the circle for the Lancers, giving up five runs, two earned, while striking out eight and walking two batters. Freshman Sydney Gay came on in relief for the second straight game and did not allow a run in her 0.1 innings pitched.

Campbell's Katie Baker earned the win in the circle, striking out three and not allowing a run in her 3.2 innings of relief pitching. Courtney Roberts started in the circle for the Camels and was pulled after giving up two runs on six hits and two walks in 3.1 innings.
