The Opening Tip
•    Coming off a dramatic 79-77 win over Campbell in the Big South opener Thursday, the Lancers head to High Point for their fifth road game this month.
•    Thursday's win was Longwood's first in a Big South opener since joining the league in 2012-13.
•    Longwood's December has been travel heavy with five of eight games on the road. Including the High Point trip, the Lancers will have traveled more than 4,000 miles this month with road games in Indiana, Nebraska, North Carolina and Texas.
•    Longwood currently has just eight scholarship players available with Damarion Geter (foot), Jahleem Montague (knee) and Juan Munoz (knee) out with injuries and Kendrick Thompson out due to non-disciplinary personal reasons.
•    Saturday's game is Longwood's third straight New Year's Eve contest. The Lancers are 0-3 on New Year's Eve in the Division I era.

Last Time Out
•    Khris Lane poured in a career-high 30 points, and Darrion Allen hit the game-winning tip-in off his own shot to lift Longwood to a 79-77 win over Campbell in the Big South opener in Willett Hall.
•    Lane was nearly perfect from the field, hitting 13-of-16 from the floor on the way to 30 points, eight rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist.
•    Lane left the game with 2:14 on the clock after picking up his fifth foul, but his fellow captain Allen pulled off the late heroics with a game-winning tip-in with five seconds remaining.
 •    Allen finished with 19 points, Isaiah Walton scored 16 with seven assists, and JaShaun Smith added 11 points. Walton hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 44 seconds left to give Longwood a 77-75 lead.
•    Campbell's Chris Clemons, the Big South's leading scorer, scored 24 points, including a game-tying bucket after Walton's late three.

By The Numbers
•    The Lancers shot .560 (28-of-50) from the floor Thursday against Campbell, their second highest clip this season and best against a Division I team. That came as the Lancers attempted their fewest three-pointers all season, hitting 7-of-11 from beyond the arc for a season-best .636 clip.
•    Redshirt junior forward Khris Lane is coming off a 30-point game against Campbell that was Longwood's first since the 2014-15 season when All-Big South point guard Quincy Taylor reached that plateau twice. The 30-point game is one of four 30-point games in the Big South this season.
•    Longwood's Big Three combination of guards Darrion Allen and Isaiah Walton and forward Khris Lane has combined for 62.7 percent of Longwood's scoring, or 42.3 points per game. All three average at least 13.0 points per game and have a combined 29 of Longwood's 40 double-figure scoring games.
•    Longwood is 4-2 this season when Allen, Walton and Lane all score in double figures.
•    Freshman forward JaShaun Smith has multiple blocks in three straight games, amassing eight during that span, including a pair in the Big South opener against Campbell. Despite playing just five minutes in Longwood's first three games, the 6-5, 200-pound Smith ranks fifth in the Big South with 1.2 blocks per game.
•    Smith and fellow frontcourt mate Chris Shields have combined for 16.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game over the past nine games. That surge coincides with an injury to starting forward Damarion Geter, who suffered a broken foot on Nov. 18 against Salem International. In the three games before Geter's injury, Shields and Smith combined for just 6.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
•    Darrion Allen has hit 25 of his past 26 free throws entering Saturday's game. His .818 career free throw percentage ranks third in school history.
