CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A pair of veteran Lancers garnered Big South All-Conference honors as Kyri Washington was tabbed to the second team while senior ace Aaron Myers was named honorable mention leading up to the Big South Baseball Championships presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

A junior left-fielder, Washington finished the regular season as the Big South leader with a career-high 14 home runs. The slugger paced Longwood's attack at the plate with over half of the Lancers' long balls and a team-high 49 RBI on the season. His 49 runs driven in rank third in the conference this season while the Prospect, Va. native also roped  nine doubles and a triple to rack up a .548 slugging percentage, fourth in the Big South.

Washington was also named to the All-Academic Team for a second consecutive year. The business administration major with a concentration in accounting also picked up Longwood Scholar-Athlete honors and a spot on Longwood's All-Academic team back in April.

Meanwhile, Myers garnered honorable mention after striking out a conference-best 110 batters this season. The senior ace also worked a Big South leading 99.2 innings while setting four school records in the process. The Big South Preseason Pitcher of the Year, Myers set Longwood records for single-game strikeouts (14), single-season strikeouts (110), career strikeouts (314) and career saves (17). The honorable mention selection makes it back-to-back seasons with postseason honors for Myers who was a first-team selection in 2014.

The two All-Conference selections match Longwood's high in its first three seasons as a member of the Big South. Myers and Washington will look to lead Longwood on a magical run in the Big South Tournament, which opens Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
