FARMVILLE, Va. – After Tuesday's game was rained out, Longwood has picked up a Wednesday night Contest with in-state rival VCU at Buddy Bolding Stadium. The rematch of last month's showdown between the two central Virginia schools is scheduled for a 6 p.m. first pitch in Farmville.
The Lancers and Rams met back on March 25 at The Diamond in Richmond, a game VCU took by an 8-1 final. The game will mark the first time since 2012 that Longwood and VCU have battled in Farmville.

Midweek Notes (PDF) Leading Off• After having Tuesday's scheduled game with NC Central rained out, Longwood picked up in-state rival VCU for a Wednesday night showdown in Farmville.
• Longwood and VCU met back on March 25 with VCU taking an 8-1 decision at The Diamond.
• The Lancers are now 4-11 all-time versus VCU and are facing the Rams in Farmville for the first time since 2012.
• Much like the March meeting, Longwood is coming off a weekend in which the Lancers benefitted from outstanding starting pitching, receiving three quality starts.
• The blue and white will be looking for its first win over the Rams since the 2011 season when Longwood went to Richmond and snagged a 6-1 victory. The win was part of a 14-game winning streak for the 2011 Lancers.
RUNNING WILD• The 2015 edition of Longwood baseball has displayed an increase aggression on the basepaths. The Lancers currently sit 15th in the nation with 62 stolen bases on the season. The blue and white are third in the Big South Conference behind Campbell, who is third in the country in stolen bases and Radford.
• By comparison, the Lancers swiped just 58 bags in 55 games last season.
• The blue and white is currently on pace for 102 stolen bases, which would be the most bags nabbed by a Longwood team since the 1991 Division II World Series club.
• The most bags a Longwood team has stolen in the Division I era is 63 in 2009. At the current rate, the 2015 Lancers would swipe their 63 bag in tonight's game.
