•   Longwood leads the Big South in assists per game (16.7 apg.), three-point percentage (.387 — 46-of-119), free throw percentage (.783 — 101-of-129) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3:1).
•   The Lancers have put up at least 80 points in four of their first six games to start the season and have four players averaging double figures. Longwood is the only team in the Big South with five double-digit scorers.
•   Longwood took a detour to the New York Stock Exchange trading floor Friday on the way to Manhattan. The Lancers held a team meeting in the NYSE board room during the visit.
Last Time Out•   Maine guard Garet Beal caught fire from three-point range and scored a career-high 23 points off the bench to lift the Black Bears to a 92-82 win over Longwood at Cross Insurance Center.
 •   Beal knocked down 6-of-9 three-pointers and led a 44-point effort from Maine's bench that pushed the Black Bears past a shorthanded Longwood team playing without injured starting point guard

•   Beal's breakout performance came as Maine shot .500 (31-of-62) from the floor and .485 (16-of-33) from three-point range en route to the Black Bears' hottest shooting performance of the season.

Lotanna Nwogbo neared a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Freshman
Chris Shields poured in a career-high 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting off the bench.
By The Numbers•   The Lancers are the top three-point and free throw shooting team in the Big South, posting conference-best marks of .387 (46-of-119) from three-point range and .783 (101-of-129) from the free throw line.
•   Longwood's roster includes one of the nation's leading three-point shooter in sophomore guard
Kanayo Obi-Rapu, whose 22 made treys are tied for the second most in the nation. Obi-Rapu ranks tied for sixth nationally with a .489 clip as well (minimum 30 attempts).
•   Longwood also leads the Big South in assists per game (16.7) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3:1). The Lancers have assisted on a league-high 57 percent of their field goals.
•   Guard
Darrion Allen is a perfect 15-of-15 from the free throw line to start his junior season. Allen's flawless shooting is tied for the nation's second longest consecutive made free throw streak to start the season.
•   Longwood's point guard trio of
Leron Fisher,
Bryan Gee and
Tra'Vaughn White has amassed 51 assists and just 20 turnovers through the first six games. Each of those three average at least 3.0 assists per game, including Fisher's team-high 4.3 in his three games since returning to the lineup.
•   Drexel transfer
Khris Lane is the Big South leader in rebounds per game (8.8 rpg.) and offensive rebounds per game (3.3 orpg.). Lane, a redshirt sophomore, has posted four games with at least nine boards this season, including a Longwood Division I record-tying 20 in the season opener against Randolph.
•   Big South Preseason All-Conference center
Lotanna Nwogbo has scored in double figures in 16 of his 23 games as a Lancer. Four of those have come this season, including a pair of 20-point games.
•   Freshman
Chris Shields is averaging 8.2 points per game off the bench, the fifth-highest bench scoring average in the Big South.
