The Opening Tip
•    Longwood faces the Big South's second-highest RPI team Thursday with a 7 p.m. matchup against Gardner-Webb. Gardner-Webb's RPI (101) trails only High Point (79) for the league's best mark.
•    Longwood redshirt senior Quincy Taylor and freshman Ryan Badowski combine to shoot 45.9 percent (95-of-207) from three-point range this season. Taylor ranks second nationally with a .500 (47-of-94) clip from beyond the arc, while Badowski ranks fourth in the Big South at .425 (48-of-113).
•    Longwood center Lotanna Nwogbo (12.9 ppg., 8.2 rpg.) will miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery Friday to repair a torn thumb ligament.
•    Freshman guard Kanayo Obi-Rapu (4.2 ppg., 2.4 rpg.) will miss Thursday's game following a procedure to treat a foot injury. He will return for the Jan. 28 game against UNC Asheville.

Last Time Out
•    Longwood rallied from an 18-point deficit to cut High Point's lead to four in the final two minutes, but the Panthers took advantage of late free throws to down the Lancers, 72-67.
•    High Point's Devante Wallace scored 16 points with seven rebounds to lead the Panthers. Wallace buried a three-pointer with 1:14 remaining to push High Point's lead from four points to seven and put Longwood in a three-possession hole.
•    Quincy Taylor keyed a 45-point second half for Longwood by scoring 17 of his 19 points in the final 20 minutes of the game. Taylor was one of three double-figure scorers for Longwood.
•    Longwood freshman Kanayo Obi-Rapu matched a career high with 11 points in a return to his native Greensboro area. Obi-Rapu knocked down a career-best 3-of-6 three-pointers.

By The Numbers
