The Opening Tip• Coming off an 85-71 win over Liberty, Longwood faces High Point Monday in a game airing on ESPN3, the Big South Network, WVHL and WHAP.
• With Monday's matchup, the Lancers will have played the top five teams in the Big South Preseason Poll within their first seven conference games.

Lotanna Nwogbo (12.9 ppg., 8.2 rpg.) will miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery Friday to repair a torn thumb ligament in his right hand. Nwogbo started every game of the season prior to suffering the injury on Jan. 10.

Shaquille Johnson scored a career-high 31 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists to lead Longwood to an 85-71 win over in-state rival Liberty Saturday at Willett Hall.

• The Lancers also lead the Big South with 147 steals and have registered at least 10 steals in three straight games.

Ryan Badowski is the Big South's leading freshman scorer, averaging 9.9 points per game. Badowski also ranks second nationally among all freshmen in made three-pointers (47) and three-point attempts (111) as well as ninth among NCAA freshmen with a .423 three-point shooting percentage.
