The Opening Tip
• Coming off an 85-71 win over Liberty, Longwood faces High Point Monday in a game airing on ESPN3, the Big South Network, WVHL and WHAP.
• With Monday's matchup, the Lancers will have played the top five teams in the Big South Preseason Poll within their first seven conference games.
• Longwood center Lotanna Nwogbo (12.9 ppg., 8.2 rpg.) will miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery Friday to repair a torn thumb ligament in his right hand. Nwogbo started every game of the season prior to suffering the injury on Jan. 10.
• Monday's game will be a homecoming for Longwood freshman guard and Greensboro, N.C., native Kanayo Obi-Rapu, Jr. Obi-Rapu starred at New Garden Friends School in Greensboro and currently averages 3.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in his first season at Longwood.
 
Last Time Out
• Shaquille Johnson scored a career-high 31 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists to lead Longwood to an 85-71 win over in-state rival Liberty Saturday at Willett Hall.
• Playing only their second game without injured center Lotanna Nwogbo, the Lancers hit 16-of-29 (.552) shots from three-point range with a pair of 5-of-6 shooting nights from point guard Quincy Taylor and freshman Ryan Badowski.
• Johnson also hit a career-high 4-of-10 three-pointers and finished 13-of-23 from the floor.
• Johnson and Taylor combined for 37 of Longwood's 41 points in the first half and 52 points for the game. Taylor scored 21 for his fifth 20-point game of the season and Big South-leading 14th consecutive double-figure scoring game.
• Longwood scored 28 points off 20 Liberty turnovers.

• Longwood has forced a Big South-leading 294 turnovers this season while averaging 15.5 points per game off turnovers. Longwood is 4-1 on the year when forcing at least 20 turnovers, including Saturday's 85-71 win over Liberty in which the Lancers scored 28 points off 20 Liberty turnovers.
• The Lancers also lead the Big South with 147 steals and have registered at least 10 steals in three straight games.
• Five of Longwood's past seven losses have come after the Lancers trailed by one possession in the final minute of the game. Four of those were decided by six points or less, and one ­— an 82-72 loss at Winthrop ­— was decided in overtime.
• Leron Fisher leads the Big South with 33 steals and has at least one steal in 11 straight games.
• Quincy Taylor has scored in double figures in 14 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the Big South. Taylor has scored 10-plus points in 15 of his 16 games this season.
• Taylor is shooting a Big South-leading .506 (44-of-87) from beyond the arc this season. He has hit 17 of his last 25 (.680) shots from three-point range.
• Taylor leads the Big South in minutes per game, logging an average of 35.2 per contest. Taylor has played 30-plus minutes in 14 of 16 games.
• In two games since redshirt junior center Lotanna Nwogbo was forced out of action with a torn thumb ligament, 6-5 junior forward Shaquille Johnson has been Longwood's leading rebounder averaging 8.5 boards per game. Johnson grabbed nine rebounds against Presbyterian on Jan. 14 and eight more in Saturday's win over Liberty.
• Freshman guard Ryan Badowski is the Big South's leading freshman scorer, averaging 9.9 points per game. Badowski also ranks second nationally among all freshmen in made three-pointers (47) and three-point attempts (111) as well as ninth among NCAA freshmen with a .423 three-point shooting percentage.
