Box Score FARMVILLE, Va. -- Spencer Angelis had three hits and two runs, and Tony Fortier-Benson had the game-winning RBI in the 10th inning, to lead High Point University to a 4-3 Big South Conference baseball win at Longwood University on Sunday afternoon at Bolding Stadium in Farmville. Conor Lourey gained the pitching win in relief for the visiting Panthers (28-19, 15-9 BSC ), who swept the three-game weekend series against the Lancers (20-31, 8-16 BSC). Longwood will play its final regular season home game against James Madison University of the Colonial Athletic Association on Tuesday, May 13 at 4 p.m. in Farmville.
Longwood took an early 1-0 advantage with a run in the first inning. Sophomore
Colton Konvicka/Richmond (2-4) singled through the right side to lead off, advanced to second on a single to right field by classmate
Kyri Washington/Prospect (1-4) and on to third via a fielder's choice ground ball from junior
Brandon Delk/Newport News (0-4). Senior captain
Matt Dickason/Chesapeake (1-2, RBI) plated Konvicka with a sacrifice fly RBI to right field. The Lancers added another run in the second inning to lead 2-0. Freshman
Alex Lewis/Burke (0-4) reached on a two-base throwing error at third, moved on to third via a passed ball and scored on a run-scoring single through the left side by classmate
Mac McCafferty/Stevens, Pennsylvania (1-4, RBI).
High Point scored a pair of unearned runs in the fourth inning to tie it 2-2. Brady Williamson (0-5) reached on a fielding error at third base and moved to second on a double to right field by Josh Greene (1-4). Josh Spano (2-5, RBI) drove in Williamson with a hard hit line drive ball off the glove at shortstop with one out, and Greene crossed the plate on a two-out bloop single to right from Kyle Brandenburg (2-5, RBI).
Longwood went back in front with a run in the sixth inning to lead 3-2. Konvicka led off with an opposite field single to left, advanced to second on a fly ball to center by Washington and on to third via a fly ball to right by Delk, taking advantage of his outstanding speed. Senior
Scott Burkett/Williamsburg (1-4, RBI) drove in Konvicka with a two-out, infield single in between second and third base.
The Panthers scored again in the eighth inning to tie it once again at 3-3. Angelis (3-4) doubled to right center field and scored with two outs on a pinch-hit, line drive RBI single off the glove at shortstop and into left center from Brenden Rivera (1-1, RBI). HPU took its only lead in the extra 10th inning for the final one-run margin. Angelis, Spano and pinch-hitter Blake Hutton (1-1) each reached on consecutive singles with one out, and Angelis scored the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly RBI to center field from Fortier-Benson (0-3, RBI).
Sophomore
Travis Burnette/Lynchburg started for Longwood and pitched the first 3.2 innings, allowing five hits and two unearned runs with two strikeouts and one walk. Freshman
Mitchell Kuebbing/Burlington, Kentucky (1-4) tossed the final 6.1 innings for the Lancers to take the loss, yielding eight hits and two earned runs with four strikeouts and one walk.

Andre Scrubb started for High Point and pitched the first 5.2 innings, scattering five hits and three runs, two earned, with the three strikeouts and no walks. Lourey (8-0) went the final 4.1 scoreless innings for the Panthers to gain the win, yielding just one hit with five strikeouts and one walk.
Longwood and High Point have now met 19 times and the Lancers still lead the all-time series, 11-8.
