The fellow North Division Fighting Camels (17-7, 3-2 Big South) never trailed in the middle game of the series against the Lancers (12-12, 2-3 Big South), who received three hits from senior captain

Campbell scored a run in the second inning to lead 1-0, as Matt Nadolski (1-5) doubled to the wall in center field to lead off, stole third base and scored on a ground ball by Elijah Trail (0-3, RBI). The Fighting Camels added another run in the third inning to lead 2-0 when John Reilly (2-3) singled, moved to second on a single from Danny Pardo (1-4) and on to third via a sacrifice bunt by Steven Leonard (1-4). Leady (1-4, 3 RBI) plated Reilly with a sacrifice fly to right field.
Longwood got on the board in the third with a run to make it 2-1, after sophomore
Colton Konvicka/Richmond (1-5) singled, moved to second on a wild pitch, on to third via a ground ball and scored courtesy an RBI single by senior
Scott Burkett/Williamsburg (2-4, RBI).
Campbell increased its advantage to 4-1 with two unearned runs in the fifth inning, as Sam Rector (2-4) reached via an infield single and advanced to second on a sacrifice by Reilly, before scoring from second on a fielding error at second base with two outs that allowed Leonard to reach base. Leady promptly followed with an RBI double to right center to score Leonard. The Fighting Camels added another run in the eighth inning to lead 5-1 after Leady reached via a fielding error at shortstop and crossed the plate on a two-out, RBI single by Matt Parrish (1-4, RBI).
Longwood closed to within 5-3 with two runs in the eighth, getting three-straight singles from Burkett, Dickason (3-4) and sophomore
Kyri Washington/Prospect (1-4) to load the bases with no outs. Burkett and Dickason each scored on back-to-back fielder's choice RBIs by freshmen
Alex Lewis/Burke (2-4, RBI) and
Mac McCafferty/Stevens, Pennsylvania (0-3, RBI).
Campbell added two more runs in the ninth inning for the final four-run margin. Rector singled and moved to second on a ground ball before a walk to Pardo and an infield single by Leonard loaded the bases. Rector scored on a ground ball by Leady, and Pardo later crossed the plate courtesy a wild pitch.
Junior
Brandon Vick/Newport News (2-2) started and pitched a complete game for Longwood, yielding 10 hits and seven runs, four earned, with three strikeouts and two walks for the mound loss.
Bobby Thorson (2-3) pitched 2.1 innings of relief for Campbell to gain the win, scattering three hits and two earned runs with one strikeout and no walks. Ryan Thompson (5), who was credited with the win on Friday night, tossed the final 2.0 shutout innings for the Fighting Camels and earned the save, allowing no hits with one strikeout and no walks.
