FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood University women's basketball team is set to host Big South Conference opponent Presbyterian College in the squad's annual Pink Game at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 8. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer research. In an effort to have a "Pink Out" in Willett Hall, the first 250 fans will receive a free pink t-shirt from the Longwood Athletics Department. A live broadcast of the game will be available via the Big South Network.

Longwood is currently 7-16 overall this season, including 4-10 in Big South Conference action. The Lancers snapped a six-game skid with a 71-59 victory against Charleston Southern earlier this week on Feb. 6. Through 23 games, sophomore

Khalilah Ali/Suffolk leads the Lancers on the glass with 6.4 rebounds per game, while Brown adds 5.3. As a team, Longwood is shooting 33.8% (459-1357) from the floor, including 27.0% (131-486) from beyond the arc, and 67.3% (263-391) from the foul line.
Scouting Presbyterian
The Blue Hose are 6-17 so far in 2013-14 and 4-10 in Big South play. Presbyterian picked up a road victory earlier this week, defeating Radford, 53-46, on Feb. 6. PC, under the direction of sixth-year head coach Ronny Fisher, is led by Karlee Taylor with 11.1 points per game. Keyonna Allen adds 10.0 points per game, while Sherece Smith totals 8.6. Allen paces the team on the glass with 6.8 rebounds per game, as well. As a whole, the Blue Hose are shooting 36.4% (424-1165) from the field, including 28.8% (105-364) from three-point territory, and 62.7% (232-370) from the foul line.
Series History
Saturday's contest will mark the eighth meeting ever between Longwood and Presbyterian in the sport of women's basketball. The Lancers hold a 5-2 advantage in the all-time series, including a 46-43 victory when the teams met earlier this season on January 2. In that outing, Longwood led by as many as 17, and despite the Blue Hose battling back to make it just a one-point game in the final minutes, the Lancers were able to cling to the victory.
