The Opening Tip• Longwood plays the third game of a six-game road stretch Saturday against Youngstown State on day two of the EMU Showcase. Longwood is currently 1-0 in the tournament after defeating UNCG, 81-79, in overtime Friday.
• Second-year head coach
Jayson Gee has Longwood off to its second consecutive 2-1 start. The Lancers also defeated Averett 79-53 at home on Nov. 14.
• Longwood has had a 20-point scorer in every game this season.
Darrion Allen has scored 20+ points in back-to-back games, while
Ryan Badowski also has a 20-point game to his credit.
• Longwood redshirt senior point guard
Quincy Taylor will make his regular season debut for the Lancers Saturday against Youngstown State. Taylor transferred to Longwood from UAB prior to the 2013-14 season.

Darrion Allen scored a career-high 22 points and hit back-to-back three-pointers in the final 45 seconds to lead Longwood to an 81-79 overtime win against UNCG Friday at the EMU Showcase.
• Allen's final trey came with 28 seconds on the clock and erased a two-point deficit to put the Lancers ahead for the remainder of the game.
• UNCG guard Tevon Saddler tied the game with two seconds left in regulation by hitting a three-pointer that erased a three-point Longwood advantage.
• Five Lancers scored in double figures, including

Darrion Allen has scored at least 20 points in back-to-back games and leads Longwood with 16.0 points per game. Allen has led Longwood in field goal attempts in both of those games while shooting .483 (14-of-29) from the field and .417 (5-of-12) from three-point range.
• Longwood has had a 20-point scorer in each of its first three games, including two from
Darrion Allen and another from freshman
Ryan Badowski in the season opener.
• Redshirt junior
Lotanna Nwogbo ranks second in the Big South with 8.6 rebounds per game. He has scored in double figures in each of his first three games and recorded his first career double-double in Friday's win over UNCG.
• Nwogbo ranks fifth in the Big South with a .882 (15-of-17) free throw percentage. The 6-8, 255-pound center hit 10-of-11 free throws against UNCG, including 8-of-9 in the second half.
• Longwood does not have a single player on the roster who has been with the program for more than two seasons. Three of Longwood's top four leading scorers this season —
Ryan Badowski (15.0 ppg.),
Lotanna Nwogbo (14.3 ppg.) and
Shaquille Johnson (11.7 ppg.) are in their first season of eligibility at Longwood.

Ryan Badowski leads all NCAA freshmen with 13 made three-pointers and 4.3 made three-pointers per game. Badowski is shooting .406 (13-of-32) from three-point range and has made at least three treys in every game.
• Longwood is averaging 27.3 points in the paint this season. The Lancers totaled a season-best 32 points in the paint in an 81-79 win over UNCG thanks to an 18-point effort from center
Lotanna Nwogbo.
• Longwood has forced the opposition into a conference-leading 21.3 turnovers per game, which ranks tied for 10th nationally. Longwood is averaging 24.0 points per game off those turnovers.
