Marshall had a three-run double in the eighth inning, while Tyler Costello gained the pitching win and Jeff Maxwell earned a save for the Highlanders (25-20, 10-6 Big South). Senior

Radford got on the scoreboard with two runs in the first inning to lead 2-0, as Josh Gardiner (1-4) opened with single and stole second base before scoring on an RBI double down the left field line by Marshall (3-5, 5 RBI). Marshall advanced on a ground ball before crossing the plate on a wild pitch. The Highlanders added another run in the seventh to lead 3-0 when Chris Coia (3-5, RBI) singled to open the inning and scored on a two-out RBI single from Marshall.
Radford broke the game open with five runs in the eighth inning to lead 8-0, getting a clutch two-out, three-run double from Marshall that scored Ryan Burgess (2-3), Coia and Gardiner, following Coia's RBI single that had plated Alexander Lee (2-5). Lee and Burgess had each singled and Gardiner had been hit by a pitch. Marshall later crossed the plate courtesy a fielding error at third base.
Longwood finally got on the board in the eighth with four runs as sophomore
Kenny Cassidy/Chesapeake (1-2) pinch hit and singled before junior captain
Matt Dickason/Chesapeake (1-3) was hit by a pitch with one out, followed by a single from Owens (2-5) to load the bases. Cassidy scored on a wild pitch and Dickason crossed the plate on a run-scoring single by Burkett (2-5, RBI). Owens scored on an RBI single from Lacy (2-4, RBI), before Burkett later scored on another wild pitch.
Morgan (4-5) started and pitched the first 7.0-plus innings for Longwood, allowing 10 hits and four runs, all earned, with one walk and four strikeouts. Sophomore
Tyler Wislocki/Annandale tossed an (1.0) inning of late relief for the Lancers, yielding three hits and four runs, three earned, with no walks and no strikeouts.
Costello (5-3) pitched the first 7.1 innings for the Radford win, scattering six hits and four runs, all earned, with one walk and six strikeouts. Maxwell tossed the final 1.2 scoreless innings for the Highlanders' save, allowing two hits with no walks and one strikeout.
