Longwood will be idle for 10 days, including next week's semester exams, before returning to action against Big South Conference North Division rival Radford University on May 3 in Farmville.

George Mason, however, answered with three runs on three hits in the sixth to tie it at 3-3. Tobin (2-4, 2 RBI) contributed a two-run single to score both Tommy Vitaletti (1-4) and Derek Evans (1-4), who had each singled to open the at bat. Anthony Montefusco (0-3, RBI) added an RBI ground ball to plate Blaise Fernandez (0-2), who had walked, as the Patriots had loaded the bases with no outs. No further damage was done, though, as two runners were left on base.
Longwood scored the go-ahead and winning run in the eighth inning when Delk doubled down the left field line to lead off, moved to third on a ground ball out and scored on the clutch, two-out RBI single by Konvicka.
Manion (2-3) pitched 1.2 scoreless innings of late relief to gain the win for Longwood, yielding no hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Burnette (2) tossed the final 2.0 shutout innings to earn his second save for the Lancers, allowing one hit with no walks and one strikeout. Sophomore
Tyler Wislocki/Annandale had started and pitched the first 5.0 innings for the Lancers, scattering four hits and two runs, both earned, with one walk and two strikeouts.
Hunt (1-3) pitched 2.0 innings of late relief for George Mason, allowing three hits and one run, earned, with no walks and two strikeouts.
Longwood swept the season series against George Mason for the second consecutive year, though the Patriots still lead the all-time series, 7-6.
